Yahoo acquired Rockmelt looks like a mobile future for Yahoo

Yahoo buys Rockmelt, stoping services
Remember Rockmelt, the web browser with the Facebook integration, it was powered with Chromium the engine that drives Google Chrome and there was a layer of Facebook on top of it. Yahoo has just acquired the company and all the services from Rockmelt will be shutting down on 31st August 2013.

Apple and Google loosing trust of American Customers

Apple and Google are one of the most trusted brands but the time is changing for both Google and Apple at least in the US. It may be because of the other brands improving their services but what about these two tech giants? According to Ponemon Institute's privacy report the two companies wasn't even able to make it to the top 20 of the list in which Apple was 14th and Google was 19th last year.

Yahoo going small, eliminates over 2000 positions

Yahoo is looking to make some saving by saying good bye to more than 2000 employs. Yahoo is expected to make a saving of $375 Million by firing 2000 employs and this will not be the only time Yahoo will be firing people.


It is expected that this layoff from Yahoo will be increasing the number of fires from 2000 to more as Yahoo has around 14,000 full time employs and they will be decreasing this number as less they could. Yahoo’s CEO Scott Thompson said that they will be concentrating on developing in this quick paced industry and will try to satisfy needs of advertisers and costumers, to achieve such Goals the company needs to eliminate some positions to cut down the cost on employs.

Yahoo and Facebook jumps into sue game

We have seen smartphone brands suing each other in the recent pasts but this is the time for the internet brands to play the game. Well Yahoo has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against our favorite social network Facebook, is Yahoo jealous of Facebook’s success……?


That could be but the official reason is that Yahoo feels that Facebook is violating 20 patents covering technology for advertising, social networking, messaging and also the personalization of the site. This sounds interesting, but what Facebook says about this is, the similarity may be there because Yahoo and Facebook has worked together in the past and this could be the reason of some similarities.

Yahoo now doing it the App way

Yahoo has been going through bad times as far as the Yahoo search is concerned, but what about adding something extra to the search results.


That extra bit is the apps tab in the Yahoo search, which allows users to search for Android and iOS apps right from the yahoo search.
