Well you might want to block a certain sites on your home or
office computers and if you are a parent you might want to do this to put your
children away from Facebook. It is very simple to block sites from your PC and
no one will be able to use them on your system. For this you really don’t need
any extra software just follow the steps below.
notepad c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Now a notepad window will open with some text in it if you
are opening it for the first time or it could be empty. Just go to the last
line of the file and hit enter type the sites as shown below:
127.0.0.1 facebook.com
127.0.0.1 soft-gets.com
You can add as much site as you want in that list just make
sure you put every site in a new line with that numbers in front of them, but
don’t block soft-gets.com :D
If due to some reason you are not able to save the host file
which opened in notepad then open computer and in the address bar paste in this
location c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ and hit enter, this action will take
you to the etc directory with that host file we need to edit. Now right click
on the notepad icon and run it as administrator which will open notepad in
admin mode and then drag the host file in that notepad window and make those
changes mentioned above and the sites are blocked on your system, this is it.
If still after making these changes to the host file your blocked sites are still opening try using the sites with www included as shown below:
127.0.0.1 www.facebook.com

ReplyDeleteaaah its a different thing if this is the way the sites are blocked just do the reverse of it
Deleteor if the sites are blocked in your server just try something like hideMyAss
